Barber Berry Farm is a U-Pick farm where you can pick your own pesticide-free blackberries and blueberries from June through the middle of July. You can also pick pesticide-free muscadine and scuppernongs when they are in season from mid-August through September.

They also grow peaches, nectarines, plums, plumcots and persimmons along with hydroponic tomatoes and other vegetables which are for sale at their fruit stand when they are in season.

This historic site was the home of Jefferson Davis, Confederate President, and his family during the first year of the Civil War until May 29, 1861. The site sits across the street from the present day state capitol, the historic location of his inauguration on February 18, 1861, where visitors will find a bronze star commemorating the inaugural moment. The house was built in 1832-1835 and has been fully restored to its original grandeur after many years of neglect and was given to the State of Alabama from the White House Association in 1921.

Built in 1907:

For almost the first century of statehood, Alabama's governors lived in private homes or hotels while in office. In 1911 the state acquired the Moses Stable home on South Perry Street for the governor's residence. Lined with fine houses, Perry was regarded as "the Fifth Avenue" of the Capital City.

In 1950, Gov. Jim Folsem favored buying a Neo-Classical Revival mansion six blocks south. This residence, designed by architect Weatherly Carter in 1907 for Adjutant General Robert Fulwood Ligon, was regarded as "one of Montgomery's finest homes." A state commision purchased the 17-room residence from Ligon heirs for $100,000. [Alabama Historical Commission]

Built in 1898, Union station is a magnificent Romanesque Revival structure that originally served Montgomery as a train station and has been beautifully restored thanks to the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the City of Montgomery.

Union Station has been a popular spot in the city and is even more popular now with the recent development of Montgomery's riverfront.

It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1973. In it's hayday, more than 44 trains would stop at the station each day.

The adjacent "Train Shed" is one of the few surviving structures of its type from the 1800's.

Located within Daniel Pratt Historic District; this park overlooks Autauga Creek and the manufacturing complex around which this New England style village was developed. Daniel Pratt founded Prattville in 1839; and patterned the town after those of his native New Hampshire. Pratt chose this site to manufacture cotton gins because of the abundant water power. The many artesian wells gave Prattville the name; 'The Fountain City.' Some of the buildings in view here have been used continuously since circa 1850.
